Getting their fixtures in a twist!

The sports pages are always good value for a "howler" and page 46 on Thursday 16th December was no exception when in CITY NEWS Steve Pumfrey wrote...

" They are unbeaten in six games under Eriksson at the Walkers Stadium, but a win against arch-rivals Nottingham Forest was followed by defeat at Bristol City and it was the same after beating Derby when they suffered a loss at Watford seven days later"

Now, any City fan will know that the order of the games was as follows:
13 Nov Derby County (H)
20 Nov Bristol City (A)
29 Nov Forest (H)
4 Dec    Watford (A)

and that if you play on Monday 29 November it's only five days later on Saturday 4 December!

2/10  could do better.

Coronation Street live episode shock - Molly also trapped in The Kabin

Last Night's TV Verdict, by Gemma Peplow ( TV & Leisure 10th December) was dedicated to the live episode of Coronation Street. The reviewer must have been overwhelmed by the events unfolding in front of her as she has Molly Dobbs trapped in The Kabin. She must have moved herself to Dev Alahan's corner shop! Our plucky reviewer had not noticed any slip-ups in the live performances - what a shame her own wasn't faultless.

À la carte ?

In the Wednesday 8th December issue we were treated to one of the occasional advert errors that get cut and pasted into the 'paper. This one is for the Old Greyhound at Great Glen.

Everybody needs good neighbours...

In the 7th December sports pages, there was a report on some Leicester City fans' visit to the Soccer AM television programme last Saturday. Also present, according to the Mercury, was Neighbours star Alan Franklin.
He looked strangely like the Australian, Neighbours star Alan Fletcher!
